Zen and Science gives to the practice of science a healthy dose of Zen perspective. The website offers short essays and links that reflect on the scientific endeavor from a non-Western viewpoint.
Zen is a Buddhist practice that shares many principles with other lineages of Eastern thought, including Taoism, Confucianism, and Hinduism. Together, these traditions have influenced the cultural landscape of nearly half the human population.
Zen exists for the benefit of all people. Science can, too. In western cultures, science is becoming the arbiter of our understanding of absolute reality. We would like to bring a self-awareness into this system and encourage scientists to work for the benefit of others.
